Introduction

A huge beast in his human form and a huge beast in his animal form, everyone in Ortrun knows the clanless Werecreature Ultkai. Regularly seen in the pub, never without a drink in his hand, Ultkai loves to have fun. Respected by clans, he is seen as the top dog, even Alpha's seeking his advice. The position of Alpha may change, but Ultkai's position never does.

The Basics

Full Name: Ultkai Teppe
Nicknames and Titles: Big Bear, Party Animal, sometimes referred by the translation of his first name: Ultimate Survivor
Age: Appears about 21. Real age unknown
Race: Werecreature - Bear

Appearance

Even in his human form, Ultkai is huge. Standing at 6ft 8ins and weighing 19 stone of pure muscle, Ultkai looks like he would have been a berserker of the Viking days. He is covered in scars which he shows off proudly yet never tells how he got them. A mass of grey hair flops around his grey eyes which contrasts to his face which appears very soft and youthful. Ultkai is never seen without jeans and boots on, though it is a rare occasion he has a top on!

Personality

Ultkai is a man who loves to have fun and have a laugh. Booze, women and song seem to fill Ultkai with bliss. Though he always seems to be in control of his actions and never acts recklessly. Ultkai always tells the truth and what is on his mind, preferring to be blunt and straight rather than dance around a issue. Ultkai keeps his word, which he believes is a bond that should never be broken. Which is why people always come to him for a diplomatic role. Ultkai loves to be social, a irony that Ultkai enjoys considering his animal form is a bear, known for being a solitary loner. Though social, he still refuses to join any clan. While he will work with werecreatures from clans, even be friends with them and fight besides them, his bear form does not like to be in a clan. For that reason, he remains clanless

Strengths/Talents/Abilities

In all forms, Ultkai is powerful. Some even say his half form is as strong as a fully fed vampire. He has trained his senses to a heighten level focused mainly on picking up the tiny details when a person is lying to him. It is difficult to lie to Ultkai, even creatures that have mastered their body have a battle to twist the truth in front of him. Due to this and his straight shooting mind, everyone in Orturn turn to Ultkai for diplomatic roles. The Werecreature clan rely on Ultkai for this, for disputes in clan or outside. Since Ultkai has been in Ortrun since it was made, and is always in the pub talking and picking up information, Ultkai is the man to go to for information

Weaknesses/Fears

Aside from the weaknesses of Werecreatures, Ultkai seems to suffer more from the agitation of a upcoming full moon. The contrast of the personalities of the animal and human form clash so violently that Ultkai suffers from great amounts of anger, usually enough to set off his transformation. Since he is well known though, most of the townspeople know what to do to calm him down. His main fear, which is so deeply hidden that even psychics have difficulty finding it, is the fear of death. Thinking about it fills him with dread and depression, which is why he has almost buried it away. Ultkai has died once before. He doesn't want to go through it again.

History

No-one knows of Ultkai's life before Ortrun. It is known that he was one of the first people to be in Ortrun when it was created, and the first werecreature there, but nothing is known before that. Many people have asked Ultkai where and when he was born, and they all get the same answer: "I was born in Ortrun. The fact I lived before Ortrun doesn't matter." There is a lot of rumers to where Ultkai is from. It ranges from a ancient tribe, to a Viking, Gaul, Goth etc. Ultkai laughs each one off.

His history in Ortrun, however, is well know. As one of the first citizens of Ortrun, he has seen the rise and fall of the city. Ultkai worked hard to get werecreatures accepted by the Coven of Builders, after that setting up the clans, their places and then getting them accepted by the community. Even though there are very few werecreatures from that time still alive, all the clans still are grateful for what he did. Later he found his role as the best diplomat of Ortrun, able to sort disputes and represent people due to the fact he was a established character of Ortrun. Everyone knew him and knew he was trustworthy.

When the fall of Ortrun started, Ultkai seemed not to care that people could not leave. Since he stepped foot in Ortrun, Ultkai had never stepped back out of it, not wanting to ever return to Earth. Life in Orturn seemed good for him, either that or Earth held something he did not want back. Even now as the gateways act strangely, Ultkai still has no interest of going back. He earns a good living through his diplomatic work and the prices he charges for information present and past. While most of the original citizens of Ortrun hide in fear of what is in their minds, Ultkai stands in full view. Because not only is he a powerful force himself, a attack on him would provoke a retaliation from all werecreatures of Ortrun. They are highly protective of him. Not to mention the allies Ultkai has gained over the years.

Important Possessions, Pets, and/or Familiars

While not technically his possession, everyone in Ortrun knows the piece of the forest that Ultkai uses for his transformation. No-one ever goes anywhere near it, going around it even when the moon is not full.

A poem that Ultkai loves to sing about drinking

Drinking By Abraham Cowley 1618-1667

The thirsty Earth soaks up the Rain
And drinks, and gapes for drink again.
The Plants suck in the Earth, and are
With constant drinking fresh and faire.
The Sea itself, which one would think
Should have but little need of Drink,
Drinks ten thousand Rivers up,
So fill'd they oreflow the Cup.
The busie Sun (and one would guess
By's drunken fiery face no less)
Drinks up the Sea, and when h'as done,
The Moon and Stars drink up the Sun.
They drink and dance by their own light,
They drink and revel all the night.
Nothing in Nature's Sober found,
But eternal Health goes round.
Fill up the Bowl, then fill it high,
Fill all the Glasses there, For why
Should every creature drink but I.
Why, Man of Morals, tell me why?
